A Welcoming Word from Pastor Jim Haskell

Welcome to our website! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little better. FBC Chattahoochee is 112 years old this year and, like our community, we have seen our church age and decline in past years. But also like our community, we see a new day ahead! Just as there is comprehensive revitalization occurring on Atlanta’s exciting Upper West Side, we too are sensing a fresh breeze of renewal in our congregation.

My wife Linda aad I responded to the invitation to help lead FBCC out of a clear call from God to the city. We love being here and are here for the long haul. I am so excited to be the Lead Pastor of this historic church at this point in time. While at this juncture we may not be able to offer as many activities that some suburban churches do so effectively, we can offer you a warm, caring, multiracial fellowship that loves God, follows Jesus, and has remained committed to serving this community for over a century.  In addition to all we are praying for here in our immediate community, we have also been led by God to begin churches in other parts of Atlanta’s exciting Upper West Side.  Mission Upper West Side is the name of this initiative and details can be found on this web site.  We are providing this in conjunction with the Urban Atlanta Impact Initiative (www.uaii.info)

We can also offer you a tremendous future full of hope. So if you would like to either find out more about Jesus or participate in the challenge of reforming a renewing community of faith into a relevant expression of Jesus…come with us. We would love for you to join with us on the journey. And, by the way…could there be any greater spiritual lesson for your children to experience than to be a part of a church becoming what God means for it to be?

We are here to help and serve, so please contact me if I can ever be of assistance. Also, if you would like more information before you visit us, please do not hesitate to call 404.794.4922 or email me at jimh {at} fbcchat(.)com.

Expectantly,

Jim
