Worship Ministry

The primary purpose of our Worship Ministry is to facilitate the Worship of and Adoration for our Lord while at the same time encouraging the use of the God given talents of our congregation and friends.

A major reason our church gathers on Sunday mornings at 11:00am and Wednesday evenings at 6:45pm is to Worship. Our Minister of Music, Bob Shaw, along with his very talented and dedicated accompanists Joy Gilbert and Melanie Christianson, lead us to connect with God through hymns, choruses, choir presentations, solos, ensembles and instrumental music.

There is much discussion these days about different styles of music in Worship. We believe that many different styles can be and should be used in order to help people express their love to God.

We desire to be a church that reflects our setting…the city, so we desire to be multigenerational and multiracial in our composition and expression. Therefore we put more emphasis on the substance and motive of our Worship than the style. When you visit us you will find that we utilize Hymns, Gospel Songs, Choruses, Choir Anthems, Instrumental Presentations, Solos and Quartets. As people with other gifts and interests become part of our church we will change to incorporate avenues and styles that help them in their expression of Worship.

In summation we desire to simply worship God in spirit and truth by using relevant aspects of worship formed by the gifts, passions and needs of the people God leads our way.
