Associate Pastor Candidate Visiting March 7

One of the most exciting days in the recent life of our church will be will be Sunday, March 7th. A candidate for our Associate Pastor, Cameron Ford, will be our guest that day at the invitation of our Personnel Committee.

He will meet with our Deacons at 8:30am that morning and then he and his wife, Melanie, will be hosted by our Personnel Committee for a coffee/reception time in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45am. The coffee/reception is open to all members and friends of the church and is offered to give everyone an opportunity to visit with this fantastic young couple in an informal setting. They might even have their infant son, Rhyan, with them!

At 11:00 Cameron will speak at our morning worship service and the church will vote on calling him to this strategic position immediately following his sermon.

About Cameron Ford

First of all I would like to state that my wife and I love living in Atlanta. We are so grateful that God brought us together to be a part of His work, bringing people in Atlanta to know Christ. It would be an honor to serve and care for First Baptist Chattahoochee, reaching the church’s surrounding neighborhoods and the rest of Atlanta.  Melanie and I hope to live in the immediate community close to the church if called to serve.

Being raised in a suburb of Atlanta, my church home was North Metro First Baptist. I was pastured by Dr. Frank Cox and was heavily influenced by his dynamic preaching. I also was deeply involved in the youth group serving along side Joseph Yarbrough and Linc Taylor.   It was also there that I surrendered to full time ministry and knew God would use me to lead His church.

During my time at Truett McConnell College, God continued to shape me, developing my passion for Christ and love for His people. As I transitioned from Truett to Georgia State University I had the opportunity to focus my calling in serving at North Metro First Baptist Church.  I spent my time out side of school mentoring the youth, leading music in the main worship time as well as chaperoning several mission trips.

For the past 5 years I have been an active member of 1027 church in the Virginia Highlands.  1027 is a new church plant in Atlanta where I have been exposed to many different areas of church life. The pastor, Tim Wolfe has mentored and led me in an Urban Church Planting Residency.  I have helped to lead in corporate worship, become an elder of the church and preach monthly to the congregation.

It would be my dream to serve the church, help in the community, and see lives changed because of Jesus Christ at First Baptist Chattahoochee.

A special thanks to the Personnel Committee for a fantastic job. They are open for any questions you might have. They also deserve your thanks. They are…Tony Overstreet, Sid Conn, Bonnie Price, James Gilbert, Amelia Jordan and Cameron Fash.
